Many people new to Trinidad, may think Maracas
Beach, is the only beach, not true . . .
A 1/2
mile up the road is an the entrance to a secluded, less
commercial, beach - Tyrico Bay.
Tyrico Bay
captivated me initially with it's offer of seclusion. So
close to the neighboring Maracas Beach, busy with pre-carnival
festivities, I had Tyrico Bay to myself.
Literally, 100 yards past the infamous Richard's Bake 'N Shark
sandwich of Maracas Bay, I found a desolate beach. I walked to
the East end of the bay without seeing another person. I
ventured to the West end of the bay without another person in
sight.
Feeling like the apocalypse had happened
and I was left behind; I turned on my Ipod and drifted away.
Drift Away
Time has a way of being
asleep on
a towel,
at the beach,
a novel in hand,
but you drift off,
The
wave's rushing in,
you feel it again,
It's time to awake and arise
It's then that you realize
your
still on a towel at the beach and have just drifted away
