Crown Point, Tobago

OK here's the deal, people in Minnesota are getting tired of me sharing my experiences in Trinidad.  I guess it's been winter and all for the the last several weeks, but I have to tell you about this weekend get-away to Tobago.

It's not like the Tropikist Hotel is paradise on the beach, like so many others in the Caribbean.  Having said that, they make the most out of what they have - Location, location, location.  OK there's the realtor in me, but seriously; five minute walk, NOT DRIVE, walk from the airport.

You can take a cab, I did getting there - for about $5 USD.  Once I knew where I was staying relative to the airport - I pulled my travel bag with wheels on a side walk from the hotel to the airport in five minutes.

Actually, it's kind-of funny. . . I did take the pre-arranged taxi back to the airport, to fly back to Trinidad standby on an earlier flight.  What was I thinking?

I had checked out of the Tropikist around 11:00AM, my flight back to Trini wasn't until 4:00 something in the afternoon.  I had already received too much sun and thought I should just get back to the main Island.

However, when I couldn't get out right away (literally there are flights about every 1/2 Hr between T & T), I decided to walk back to the Tropikist and hang by the pool.  I was graciously welcomed back, offered an available suite to use - after the pool if needed for a shower, etc.  Nice, I didn't take them up on it.

I did however use the additional sunshine time to contemplate my weekend, and the dive of a lifetime.

Imagine yourself in about 50' of blue on a slow drift, then in your peripheral vision you see a school of Hammerhead Sharks.  I flip over so I'm coasting on my back and watch them swim on by - 100's.

AWESOME!
